The Vampire Facial might be your new best friend. Developed by Dr. Charles Runels using blood derived PRP (platelet rich plasma) and a PRFM (platelet rich fibrin matrix) this procedure promotes healthy, younger looking skin.
Do you have fine lines around the eyes, mouth, neck and forehead? Are you beginning to see eye bags or a saggy jaw line on your face?
Has your skin color gotten a bit dull? Are there scars from old acne blemishes, chicken pox or small injuries? Enlarged pores?
The Vampire Facial might be your new best friend. Developed by Dr. Charles Runels using blood derived PRP (platelet rich plasma) and PRFM (platelet rich fibrin matrix), this procedure promotes a healthy, natural, and younger skin appearance.
Dr. Alice McKee at 23 Sandstone Body and Mind Spa is certified by the American Cosmetic Cellular Medicine Association to perform The Vampire Facial. Your procedure would start with a blood draw in our clinical treatment room. The freshly drawn blood is immediately processed in a Purespin machine for about 15 minutes to obtain the PRFM substance, full of special “growth factors”.
Next, we use an automated device (Rejuvapen) to open micro channels on your prepped face and anterior neck. Then your fresh PRFM will be carefully applied, to penetrate this entire area, where it will start stimulating new cell growth.
This whole procedure will take about 90 minutes. You should avoid sun exposure for a few days, and your face and neck will be mildly inflamed for up to 24 hours. Avoid taking aspirin or ibuprofen products, because the inflammation is actually beneficial to results.
The process of facial rejuvenation for improved skin color, texture, plumpness and elasticity begins immediately. Most patients notice a significant, younger appearance within two weeks. New collagen, elastin and blood vessels are formed from the activation of your own stem cells within your skin.
Final results take up to three months, since the body is busy growing new cells for some time. Before and after pictures are most helpful to fully appreciate the changes in each individual. We will review these with you, and discuss a maintenance program depending on your individual response and desires. Repeat Vampire Facials for maintenance are best done every 6-12 months.
(This procedure also works well with the Vampire Facelift, for those who desire a more enhanced youthful appearance.)
Cost of the Vampire Facial is $700, not covered by insurance. Cost can be covered by flexible spending accounts. We take all major credit cards, including Care Credit.
